LawyerConnect.ca uses a MySQL database for storing the lawyer details information that is displayed on individual lawyer profile pages. All information is added and edited by the lawyers themselves through an administration area that is accessed by the lawyer's own chosen username and password; therefore, even though each sign up has to be approved manually by LawyerConnect.ca, we will not be responsible for any inaccurate information on lawyer profile pages.
We do our best to ensure that all the lawyers in our system are legitimate. Initially, lawyers must be manually approved by an administrator, and following that, a lawyer must pay a fee to become a member. If it is determined that a lawyer is not legitimate at any time during the trial period or anytime during the membership period, we may remove the lawyer from the system without any warning, and no refund will be given.
Payments are made using a secure area of our site that utilizes an SSL certificate, thus there should be no risk to the purchaser. A purchaser can make a payment through the member administration area that is reached by logging in with the username and password that was chosen while signing up. No subscription payments will ever be set up, but members will receive warnings by email and on their welcome page after logging in, reminding them that the membership period is coming to an end. A member lawyer must always initiate the payment from the member welcome page.
